In 1984, Baum Property Management opened its doors to the community of Aurora, Illinois. Since that time, the association management company has been faithfully serving the real estate needs of the city with the help of its lean team of experts, state of the art technology, and continuous focus on customer needs. Owner Mike Baum expounds on the company's unique culture and its impressive track record.
Baum's leadership philosophy centers on tailoring his service to particular customer needs first and foremost. Ensuring a progressive and intellectually stimulating environment for his employees, he has built a loyal and knowledgeable team.

On the question of what inspired him to open his company, Baum references his long-standing ambition to create and sustain a business culture that embraces and nurtures its workers while providing individualized service to its clients. Even though he feels he has largely accomplished his dream, Baum doesn't believe there is an end to improving and perfecting his business.
Baum Property Management is the apex of Baum's entrepreneurial aspirations, and despite its relatively modest size, has managed to take on quite a number of homeowners' and condominium associations.
Since the beginning, Baum has believed "that there is a niche for quality local property management," which has motivated him to hone in on the strengths of his company?excellent and personalized service and a progressive work environment that attracts and retains talented staff. One of the secrets of running a successful enterprise, Baum says, is figuring out how to sustain a positive and rewarding culture for its workers.
Property managers at Baum are constantly learning and enrolling in continuing education courses to ensure that they stay on top of the latest industry trends. That being said, the company makes sure to utilize cutting edge technologies in their everyday operations, such as an in-house computer server, new laptops, and smart devices to track modifications and violations.
Baum Property is an Accredited Association Management Company (AAMC). Having a certified personal accountant also makes for an efficient operation. In addition, Baum points out, his company provides their financial statements using one of the industry's leading software packages for Common Interest Communities (CID) which are identified as condominiums, retirement homes, vacation timeshares, and other housing developments comprised of individually owned units.
"We pride ourselves on remaining a relatively 'small company' by industry standards," Baum says and adds that "proper attention to our clients cannot be given if the staff is overwhelmed with work." In fact, Baum Property Management maintains a very low client to property manager ratio to ensure the best service and optimal efficiency.
