Since 1998, when Internet access was just becoming widely adopted by American businesses, Outsource IT Solutions Group, Inc. (OSG) has been there for Naperville area companies and all of their information technology needs. A full service IT consulting, networking, and solutions firm, Outsource IT Solutions Group focuses on helping small businesses in the Naperville area succeed and has become a fixture of the community.
"We recognized early on that the small business market would drive the U.S. economy and we have focused our products and services on this sector," says Amy Coneys, the firm's HR and Office Manager. "Since our inception, we have played an active part in the Naperville community. From sponsoring RibFest or The Last Fling or our involvement with the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce and associated events, Naperville has always been OSG's hometown."
Some of the services OSG provides include network consulting, cloud computing, cyber security, office relocation assistance, and even computer hardware recycling. The firm can assist with setting up an information technology plan, something that Coneys stresses is important for all businesses to have in place.
"An information technology plan is a roadmap between the existing hardware and software systems and the future technological advances that are applicable to small and medium-sized business profitability," she explains
"A key component is a lifecycle analysis which outlines the age and useful life of key systems. By establishing this roadmap businesses can avoid unexpected capital expenditures or, even worse, lost productivity due to unplanned downtime. Planning and providing the business owners with this key intelligence, in terms they can understand, provides a far more effective outcome than viewing computer and technology as only an unmanageable cost."
The company was founded by Don Sofolo, an engineer with Novell, Citrix, and Microsoft engineering experience under his belt, with the intentions of providing budget friendly IT systems to small and medium sized businesses to help them increase profits. His favorite message, "The customer's perception is our reality", is the firm's driving force.
OSG owes much of its success to its staff by hiring the most trained candidates and retaining them. As stated on its website, one of its values is to "take care of our employees first, our customers, our vendors, and other partners in this order." The OSG team is made up of experienced and certified technicians, engineers, and customer service representatives that ensure clients receive the assistance they deserve.
"We work hard to understand the customer's situation and provide a custom support agreement that addresses the customer's specific need versus selling canned products or plans," says Coneys. "While many of our customers 'outsource' everything to OSG, just as many rely on us to work with their existing staff and systems to achieve the desired outcome."
OSG also emails a monthly newsletter filled with the latest tech news and IT security tips. It's another way the company is committed to helping businesses use their information technology plan to the fullest.
